Summary: Excellent vacuum FOR THE PRICE
Comment: I bought the Bissell Zing a few weeks ago as a second vacuum for dusting and light use, and am very pleased with it. I have a full-size, more expensive canister vacuum that I use for vacuuming of carpets and general cleaning. I wanted an inexpensive, lightweight vacuum to use in between those bigger efforts, and for quick cleanups of spills, dusting, etc.
Likes: corded - won't lose power as I vacuum like a cordless, and no battery to lose charge capacity over time, so should have longer useful life; bagged - no mess created from emptying a dust cup into the wastebasket; small size - easy to store in small closet; retractable cord means I can pull out just as much as I need and don't have to wind up a cord when I'm done - just push a button and it zips back into the canister; lightweight - easy to move, or even carry while dusting tall furniture like bookshelves, entertainment center, etc. - has handle on top and in front; standard hose diameter means that most universal attachments will fit - more info under dislikes; included an extra package of 5 replacement bags, in addition to the one installed in the vacuum, for a total of 6 bags included with initial purchase; telescoping wand that is plenty long in the fully extended position for floors, but can be shortened for cleaning drapes, furniture, or ceilings; has 2 suction adjustments - one on the canister, and one on the wand (maybe the earlier reviewer missed one of these adjustments); cleans hardwood, tile, and vinyl floors as well as my full-size vacuum.
Dislikes: These are minor to me, but the small size caused a few design compromises. The cord is long enough to cover a small to medium sized room without having to unplug and move to a new outlet, but a large room will require moving the plug. I'm sure the small size and retractable cord feature limits how much cord can be provided, and still fit into the case when retracted. Also, there is a combo dust brush/crevice tool included that fits into a small compartment under the vacuum, but again the available storage space meant that the design team had to make this so small that it's virtually worthless. Since I intended to use this vacuum for a lot of dusting tasks, I also purchased a universal dust brush from Sears that fits perfectly and works great with the Zing. Another longer crevice tool for getting into tight, narrow areas also fits on the Zing hose. I think any slip-on/slip-off vacuum accessory would work with the Zing, but of course there's no place to store them.
I give the Zing 5 stars because I think it does well in everything it's intended to do. It will not match the performance of a full-size, name-brand vacuum, but it also does not cost $200 to $500. For an under-$100, lightweight vacuum, it is excellent.

Summary: I love this little guy:)
Comment: I have only tile and hardwood flooring, no carpeting, just throw rugs; my house is 1600 square feet. Also, 3 large dogs, 1 short haired and 2 long haired. Yesterday, I returned the Hoover Windtunnel Cansiter that I paid $245.00 for, which would be great if I had a mixture of carpet & bare flooring; on bare floors it did not pick up the long dog hair. I just used the Bissell Zing and purchased for only $39.00 and it picked up everything, including dirt and dog hair on my throw rugs. It is so lite you can carry it around, so what if it tips over sometimes, and the cord is a little short; I have clean floors and I am walking around barefoot and it sucked up everything, you can not beat this price. Also, it was so easy to clean with, I didn't feel like I was dragging it around like my old Kenmore canister that I would build up a sweat with and dread taking it out; and would use a broom instead, because it was so much work. No more broom, I can't wait to use it again!

Summary: Works well, looks good, very inexpensive
Comment: The guy who said this unit has no sucking must have gotten a lemon.
Mine works great. Very good suction, even when the bag fills up. Its small size and light weight make it very maneuverable. It was the cheapest unit in the store where I purchased it, which made me a little leery, but I'm delighted with it. Also, while I wouldn't say that this unit is quiet, it certainly is not unreasonably loud.
Look, if you've got a 6,500 square foot house, this isn't the unit for you. If you've got a small apartment, with limited closet space, as I do, get the Zing; it's great!

Summary: Totally disagree with other review
Comment: I totally disagree with the other review. The Zing has a great deal of suction. It picks up everything. I have had a number of canister vacs that didn't but this one really does. The user above must have a defective one or is doing something wrong.
